Documents from their Wireless Devices
San Francisco, CA
(March 7, 2000) - vVault,
Inc. today announced the immediate availability of vVault
Anywhere(TM), its online storage and messaging application.
Built on vVault's Internet file repository and delivery
platform, vVault Anywhere supports multiple wireless
devices, including Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-enabled
phones and Palm VII(TM) Handheld Computers. This functionality
delivers on the long-hyped promise of wireless access
to important personal or business documents.
"My travel schedule
makes it inconvenient to maintain a desktop or dial-up
connection to my corporate data. vVault makes it possible
for me to access and share my files without hauling
around my laptop," said Dr. A. Joon Yun, Vice President
of Medical Affairs, Targesome, a biotechnology company
in Palo Alto, California. "Managing my files from my
cell phone or Palm Pilot makes vVault an invaluable
business tool for me."
vVault's robust, scalable
architecture incorporates industry-leading technologies,
including enterprise-class application, database, and
fax servers to ensure users a reliable online file management
and messaging platform with rich functionality. Documents
are maintained at vVault's secure, high availability
data center, hosted and maintained at Exodus Communications'
facility in Santa Clara, CA.
"Being able to access
and deliver documents wherever you are is a huge step
in pervasive computing," said Bill Ho, CEO and founder
of vVault. "We've built an enabling technology that
makes the usefulness of wireless computing a reality.
We are excited to be among the first to truly deliver
on the anytime, anywhere promise."
vVault Anywhere
vVault Anywhere allows
mobile professionals to store both electronic and hardcopy
documents in a personalized vVault account. Any file
or document stored at vVault then can be viewed, retrieved,
and managed from any Internet-connected computer or
device. In addition, files stored at vVault.com can
be sent instantly via e-mail or fax to anyone, anywhere.
vVault Anywhere is
available for both the individual end-user and for organizations
looking to outsource their wireless document management
and accessibility.
"We are happy to be
working with vVault to enhance connectivity between
our Web platform and its constituent medical communities,
including patients, physicians, payors, manufacturers,
suppliers and others," said Michael Ping, CEO of eBioCare.com,
Inc. "The incorporation of vVault wireless technology
into eBioCare's Web capabilities will help us become
a leader in the Internet delivery of specialty pharmaceutical
