NEOMAR WAP BROWSER
LIVE ON MOTIENT'S eLINK
Key Content Partners
for Neomar Portal Round Out Free Wireless Offering;
First Step in Providing Wireless Solutions to Mobile
Professionals and the Enterprises
San Francisco, CA
(May 8, 2000) - Neomar, a
start-up company which delivers wireless solutions to
mobile professionals and enterprises, today announced
that its Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-based microbrowser
is now downloadable from Motient's (NASDAQ: MTNT) eLink
site and also from its own site for eLink customers.
Motient was formerly named American Mobile Satellite
Corp.
The browser will enable
eLink customers to access critical information wirelessly,
from driving directions, weather and restaurant information
to stock quotes. It is the first step in Neomar's plan
to deliver business-critical content and enterprise
applications to mobile professional using a variety
of wireless devices, including the eLink, RIM BlackBerry,
Palms, and the Handspring Visor. Neomar is focusing
on PDAs because their larger screens, interfaces, greater
amount of memory, and ability to handle graphics make
them inherently better devices to deliver business content
and enterprise applications than phones.
"The combination of
the eLink's rise in popularity among mobile professionals
for wireless Web access and business-critical applications,
and the nationwide reach of Motient's ARDIS network
made them a logical choice for us," said Fred Chieux,
senior vice president of strategy and alliances for
Neomar. "With Neomar's browser and access to our wireless
business portal, eLink business users and enterprises
will have a new competitive weapon in their arsenal,
unchaining them from current deskbound enterprise applications
such as customer relationship and supply-chain management."
"Neomar's WAP-based
microbrowser and content provide a true value added
capabilities for our wireless email and internet services,"
said Brian Nimmo, vice president of marketing, Motient
Corporation. "We are firmly committed to evaluating
and adapting the latest in wireless data technology
and our use of a WAP-based solution is indicative of
that."
For its wireless business
portal, Neomar has signed strategic partnerships with
a number of companies that comprise a key piece of the

as the default sports site on WAP browsers being deployed
on RIM devices, providing users with all the news and
information available at www.totalsports.net. "We are

our online offerings and furthers our vision as the
future of sports information."
Neomar's microbrowser
delivers content from these partners specifically formatted
for wireless devices using WML 1.1, the WAP equivalent
of HTML. WAP is quickly becoming an important factor
in developing wireless content by making it swift and
simple to adapt Web content to handheld devices. As
a result, Neomar's microbrowser gives users a secure,
easy way to access important information. In addition,
WAP is an open protocol, allowing the wireless development
community to deliver WAP applications to customers.
Along with first commercially available browser for
PDAs, Neomar has developed an end-to-end WAP solution
encompassed by a gateway, application server, and a
