vVAULT ANNOUNCES NEW WORKGROUPS PRODUCT FOR MOBLE ENTERPRISES

Enhancements to vVault Platform Advances Enterprise Collaboration

San Francisco, CA (April 17, 2001) - vVault, a leading provider of infrastructure technology for mobile productivity applications, today announced the release of vVault WorkGroups, an enhancement to their award-winning vVault Platform product that allows corporate IT managers to easily administer and flexibly manage group accounts within the mobile enterprise. As with vVault's core applications designed for mobile professionals, vVault WorkGroups is designed to support carriers and other distribution partners that target the mobile workforce.

vVault's technology platform integrates with legacy communication and IT systems to enable end users to access, send, and collaborate on business critical documents through fax, email, the Web, and emerging wireless devices, including WAP phones and connected PDAs. With vVault, mobile professionals can view key business files wirelessly (including email attachments) and print documents remotely via fax. The vVault Platform was recently named "Best Group Productivity Solution" and won "Best of Show" at Cellmania's annual WAPPYAwards, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard and AT&T Wireless.

vVault WorkGroups enhances the vVault Platform with tools for service providers to sell into the enterprise market.

Key features include:

  • Ease of Administration: vVault WorkGroups allows corporate administrators to bulk load thousands of users and quickly add, edit, and remove user accounts.
  • Detailed Reporting: Allows administrators to granularly track usage such as outbound faxes with detailed records of both documents and destinations. Enterprises can track logon activity and several other usage metrics. Carrier partners can track multiple customer accounts for billing purposes.
  • User Management Capabilities: Based on reporting functionality, administrators can make better decisions on how to allocate fax, storage, and other vVault capabilities. This flexible distribution method allows customers to optimize deployment of vVault-powered services across the enterprise.
  • VAR Sales Tools: Designed for distribution by service providers, vVault WorkGroups includes sales features for initial account creation, mechanisms for the sale of more capacity and services, and reporting capabilities at the VAR level.

vVault WorkGroups' administration functionality enhances existing communication and collaboration tools included in the vVault Platform, such as group file sharing, versioning, and permissioning.

"vVault's Platform arms our customers with a compelling offering for both individual mobile professional subscribers and the companies employing them," noted Bill Ho, founder and Chief Technology Officer at vVault. "With this release of vVault WorkGroups, vVault extends the reach of its product line to the mobile enterprise, an important step towards our goal of becoming the standard platform for mobile productivity."

"A critical driver in the adoption and usage of mobile applications will be the ability for workers to get 'in the flow' of the b01.usiness day - even while working remotely," said Jennifer DiMarzio, industry analyst at Summit Strategies. "vVault's current functionality is aiming to address this very real need."
